Black Bridal Bliss – Looking Back to Move Forward

Please enjoy this post from me today — the final post from BlackBridalBliss.com for the year. Nadine will return next Thursday with her Road to Mrs. blog.

The oft-forgotten Black bride was the reason Triple B launched -- and the reason it has grown!

“How can you give advice on marriage or weddings if you’ve never been married?” she asked with a tinge of attitude while she flashed her colossal platinum diamond ring and matching wedding band. She was an on-air reporter for CNN and we were at a networking reception during the National Association of Black Journalists Annual Conference in San Diego last summer. The Road to Mrs.: Perfect Last Minute Holiday Gifts!

Nadine has the scoop on these cute tanks and other great items for you last-minute shoppers!

Still searching for last minute gifts? Me too! I’m the biggest procrastinator when it comes to holiday shopping. This year it’s even worse — I can’t help but notice all of the lovely gifts for my bridal party, mom and future mother-in-law. Sigh. Christmas is just days away. After perusing the Internet, I found a few inspiring ideas I had to share. There’s something for everyone: the bride-to-be, bridesmaids, future mother-in-law, or future step-child. And don’t worry guys; I’ve even got something for you. How do I know they’re perfect?  Because they’re all on my wish list. One thing that isn’t: household items. I hope my fiancé is reading. Sean, your joke about giving me a pot set for Christmas wasn’t funny.  A pot set?  Seriously? Guys make comments like that and wonder why they’re in the doghouse… Anyway, I digress.

Spotlight on Kesha Lambert Photography

Sweet Love: Triple B has the scoop on this gorgeous image and much more!

A few weeks back I discovered another fab wedding and portraiture photography resource on Facebook (Yep, even when I’m on FB I’m working.) and decided to put the biz in save. Oh and I can’t forget to mention her out-the-box e-session and boudoir images — gorge! I’m confident you will appreciate her eye and creativity as much as I did. Take a look for yourself: [Read more...]

Today’s featured expert is makeup artist Andrea Fairweather of Fairweather Faces. Andrea has been doing her thing for over 20 years and has provided her services to over 300 brides! But what makes this interview special is that I met Andrea as a college student over a decade ago. I was modeling in a hair show (Don’t judge me.) and Andrea was the makeup artist. As a dark skin woman, I was extremely skeptical about her choosing flattering shades for my complexion.

The Road to Mrs.: Do We Need a Wedding Planner?

Nadine rejoicing after beating her beau Sean in a game of Wii. Like then, the couple has to find ways to get over when they don't see eye-to-eye during the planning process.

Now that the preliminary plans for our nuptials are out of the way, you would think I’d be in chill mode. Breathe a little easier perhaps? Not quite yet. Sean and I have yet to answer one important question: Do we need a wedding planner? [Read more...]
