Getting engaged to the love of your life is an exciting milestone for any woman and a celebrity’s experience is no different.
Except for the kinds of stones they’re given.
Actress and timeless beauty, Halle Berry is now the fiancé of actor, Olivier Martinez; the two have been dating for over two years and recently announced an official engagement after much speculation.
As a token of his love, Martinez chose to give Berry a ring that has become part of an ever-growing trend: colored-stone engagement rings. However, there is nothing common about this ring. Seated in a yellow-gold setting, the stone is a 4-carat emerald from an inaccessible mine in Colombia. Heightening the exclusivity is the coloring of the emerald itself; there’s said to be a unique balance between the blue and yellow within the green of the stone.
Other celebrities who’ve been part of the trend are Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Catherine (Kate Middleton) who was given a blue sapphire by Prince William; Jessica Simpson who was given a 5-carat ring comprised of rubies and as history has just repeated itself, Jacqueline Kennedy was given an emerald stoned engagement ring by then Senator John F. Kennedy Jr.
What do you think of the colored engagement ring trend? Love it or loathe it? Sound off, folks!

I love it. I have a yellow sapphire surrounded by diamonds and I absolutely love it. Everyone should feel free to break out of the norm and go for something that reflects their personality and style.
Actually diamond engagement ring reflects your personality and style so it should be unique and attractive.
