Bring on the weekend! This post will be short and sweet. I had to let you guys know — and simply remind some of you — about the superfly and talented duo that is CreativeSoul Photography. Founded and run by husband-wife team Kahran and Regis Bethencourt, this couple captures images that make you smile, laugh and say “Awww!” outloud. Kahran and Regis were featured in Tie the Knot Tuesday and their wedding matched their unique, enviable style. Although they’re based in the ATL, these shutterbugs are open to travel and just recently relaunched their website. (Be sure to check out their behind the scenes video page.) Contact them directly for pricing and booking info and as always, be sure to mention Triple B sent ya. Some more of my fave pics from them after the jump. [Read more...]
I recently stumbled across a great lil’ find on Glamour Weddings. Many couples are now using the above cards – or variations of them — to thank their wedding guests. I think they’re pretty neat plus quick and painless for any DIY bride (or groom) to create. The cardstock can of course coordinate with your wedding colors and the words should be tweaked to reflect you and your spouse. You can even add a pic. How pleasantly surprised will your guests be to find this waiting for them at the reception rather than the standard menu card? [Read more...]
Yeah, yeah, yeah…I know you’re salty with me for today’s MIA Tie the Knot Tuesday feature. I apologize, folks. It will return next week for sure. There’s just a lot of Triple B housekeeping stuff going on behind the scenes right now. All good stuff, though.
In the meantime, I have some exciting news to share. The Triple B family is growing and the new — ahem, male (!) — fam member will be introduced formally next month. In preparation for his arrival, tell me what topics you would most like him to address here on Triple B from a male pov: [Read more...]
Triple B, I have a crush. I stumbled upon Jenny Packham’s 2013 bridal collection this week while doing research for a freelance story. Pure eye candy. The London-based designer has dressed stars like Kerry Washington and Jennifer Hudson on the red carpet. But really it’s her subtle details that have me swooning: the unexpected pleats and usage of lace (lace can be tricky as we have all seen in wedding gowns that resemble Quinceañera dresses) combined with the overall femininity the collection has — those Brits I tell ya. Take a look at more of my faves from the line yourself: [Read more...]
Losing weight for my wedding day and sharing the journey with you was the premise of starting this blog on Triple B. While that may have been the reason for it’s origin, it has morphed into so much more. I have found support, advice and cathartic release here. I have shared, I have cried. I have enjoyed every minute of it. This blog has become so much more than a weight loss chronicle. But with my wedding less than a month away, this week I am returning to the beginning. For many brides-to-be searching for the perfect fragrance to wear on their big day is a very important assignment. The scent should seemingly be inviting and long-lasting but not over-bearing. And I imagine something that will make your sweetie want to hold you even tighter is also a requirement. Enter: Kai Perfume Oil. [Read more...]
Triple B wishes sincere congratulations to veteran actress Tichina Arnold (who many of you affectionately still refer to as Pam from her Martin days) on her recent nuptials! Who did she marry? St. John’s University assistant basketball coach Rico Hines. Tichina, 43, was happily wed at Honolulu’s Oasis Oceanfront Estate, with reportedly 70 guests in attendance. D-Nice flew in for one day to deejay the event and celebrity wedding planner Diann Valentine orchestrated the intimate wedding weekend. Her loving bridal party included Sidra Smith — twin sister of actress Tasha Smith. [Read more...]
This video — shot by the talented folks at Three Ring Weddings — needs no words but I must note that it is extra-touching because the subjects let their true personalities shine through (Like another one of my fave father/daughter first dances). Be sure to tell me your favorite part in the comments after viewing. Enjoy!
Before a bride gets hitched, there’s a tradition that typically takes place first. All her girlfriends and bridesmaids are required by an unspoken law to get together and celebrate her last night of “freedom”. This usually entails a night full of colorful cocktails, partying, sometimes traveling; but most importantly as demonstrated in the recent chick flick Magic Mike, a well-endowed male stripper is part of the hoopla.
However, there are alternate approaches to celebrating that final night of being a bachelorette if strippers aren’t your style or you just want peace and quiet before a day full of unpredictable. Triple B found 5 alternative (and non-cheesy!) ways for brides to enjoy their friends, make memories and not regret that your name will be changed forever and ever. [Read more...]
Okay. It is officially getting real to me. We went to the courthouse, filed our paperwork and left with a tentative marriage license in hand. In exactly a month from now I will be Mrs. Royshawn Harrison. I honestly wasn’t expecting to be a nervous wreck, but anxiety has reared its head. [Read more...]
