5 Last Minute (And Affordable) Valentine’s Day Ideas

A cooking class with your boo thang for Valentine's Day could get spicy!

You’ve read a gazillion (Okay, maybe just a billion.) traditional Valentine’s Day Gift Guides so this year Triple B is switching things up. Instead of suggesting things to give and/or ask for this VDay, we’ve rounded up our top five experiences to enjoy on February 14th. Here’s to more lightweight living in 2014!

Have a chef come to your home to cook a romantic meal Skip the crowded restaurants and dine in your own abode. Most seasoned chefs are already booked but try contacting your local university’s culinary department to inquire about students who would be happy to take on such a gig for experience. You can even customize the menu around people, places or things that are special to you as a couple.

Plan a sexy staycation Book a room for a night or two at a hotel near your home and pretend you are a true tourist on vacation. Budget tip: If you’re both off on Monday for President’s Day, book the room for Sunday instead of Valentine’s Day and the rates are likely to be much lower.

Splurge on a luxe couple’s massage One just can’t go wrong with a couple’s massage. Most high-end spas like the Canyon Ranch in Las Vegas have comfy lounges that allow you to hang out and get some R&R before and after your treatment. Visit spafinder.com for ideas on where to go in your neck of the woods.

Take a class together Pick a class…Any class. Dance — Salsa, maybe? Cooking. Pottery. (Don’t lie, that pottery scene from Ghost was sexy as heck.) DJ’ing. Bonding with your boo while learning something new is priceless.

Get your drink and artist on Folks near and far are raving about the joys of Sip and Stroke. Many couples praise Sip and Stroke as a relaxing but fun way to spend time with their honey. I hope to try one out with Mr. TK this year.

Which “experience” is your fave and why?
