The last stint of Triple B’s USVINice Tour was St. Croix. While I had a great time in St. Thomas and St. John, I enjoyed my visit to St. Croix most. The people were friendly, my accommodations top-notch, the island is postcard-worthy gorgeous and there’s something for everyone to do — from families with small children, girlfriends seeking a fun get-a-way, fellas searching for bonding time or couples looking for a romantic retreat. These are my most memorable parts of St. Croix:
The second leg of my USVINice excursion after visiting St. Thomas was St. John. I had been to the island once very briefly on the way home from Virgin Gorda in 2010 and had been itching to return for a longer stay. I was so pumped to see what St. John had to offer. Here’s what I discovered: [Read more...]
Last month I had the pleasure of visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands as part of a USVINice initiative. (!) I, along with about ten other lifestyle bloggers and digital influencers, headed down to the Caribbean for a chance to experience the beauty of island life in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. There’s so much useful information to share about destination weddings, honeymoons and bachelor/ette getaways that I’m giving each island their own post. Find out what people, places and things in St. Thomas are now on the Triple B radar and why they should be on yours, too! [Read more...]
So now that you know what to do, see and eat in Charleston, here is a handy-dandy cheat sheet of trusted vendors to help you plan your wedding in the charming southern city. All of these folks should be used to working with out-of-town couples who might not reside anywhere near Charleston. A huge and sincere thank-you to Dr. Valerie Frazier-Gresham of the Charleston Multicultural Bridal and Events Association for assisting with this list.
Back in February, the hubby and I headed below the Mason Dixon line for some R&R. We initially chose Charleston, South Carolina because JetBlue was having a sale. We figured it would be a nice getaway for my birthday, a quick escape from NYC’s harsh winter and a chance to experience a new city together. Both of our expectations were pretty low. Man, were we pleasantly surprised! [Read more...]

“Man can plan but God can hinder.”
Growing up, I listened to my North Carolina-born mom and grandmother recite the above sentence countless times and it typically left me perplexed. Now as a married, 30-something year-old woman I get it. In fact, my new marriage and now postponed honeymoon are prime examples of this saying.
Before I get into the who, what and why of my honeymoon being postponed, let me explain a few things: I work in an industry where frontin’ is embraced. I thought long and hard about whether or not I wanted to post this because I was nervous about oversharing and exposing too much of me and the hubby’s business to the world wide web. But upon careful consideration, I concluded (after running it by him) that I should because if I experienced it, someone else probably has, too. So here goes… [Read more...]
We have all heard stories of how young girls start planning their wedding before their first heart break. When some of these girls turn into young women, the mental wedding planning kicks into a higher gear. Men have a perception of how much women look forward to planning and being the center of attention at a wedding. Well, our version of this is THE BACHELOR PARTY. One of the coolest things about a bachelor party is most guys aren’t limited to just one. Wait, wait, wait. What I mean is – not only do we get to participate in our own bachelor party, but we also partake in the bachelor parties of our buddies. The verbatim reaction of one of my closest friends when I shared I was engaged was “Word? Where are we going for the bachelor’s trip?” At least 5-minutes passed before I was congratulated.
Today I will share with you 4 keys to planning an epic bachelor party. [Read more...]
Last weekend hip-hop star and actress Eve officially tied the knot! The former pitbull in a skirt wed her beau Maximillion Cooper, a British designer and Gumball 3000 race founder, in Ibiza, Spain on Saturday, June 14. Reports say the couple exchanged vows during sunset beach nuptials in front of guests who were asked to dress in elegant beach attire. A series of bonding events were carefully planned for guests to enjoy the days leading up to the ceremony including a pool party and champagne toast rehearsal dinner. [Read more...]
Swanky hotels with chic lobbys and cool rooftops practically populate NYC like pigeons. I admittedly get jaded about sleek hotels in the Big Apple (lots of fashion and beauty press events take place in them) but when I recently accepted a lunch invitation at The Conrad Hotel in the city’s financial district, I knew I had to share this find with y’all. I was wowed from beginning to end! [Read more...]
