Triple B's resident bride-to-be Jene and her teenage daughter, Tylesha
Being a bride who is also a single parent to a teenager has its own unique challenges. My daughter Tylesha has been one of the biggest hurdles in my relationship. There was a time I was unsure if Shawn and I would survive Hurricane Tylesha. I was very young when I had Ty, so we basically grew up together. My Stinkey (my affectionate nickname for Ty – don’t judge me, LOL) was my shadow. We did everything together: vacations, restaurants, shows. You name it, we did it. While I did date, she was never privy to that, as far as she was concerned it was always “Mommy and Me” time. [click to continue…]

Triple B's resident bride-to-be is finding her way in the world of portion control.
Hey Triple B, I hope everyone’s week was well. As far as my diet is concerned, for the most part mine was great. However, Friday was a challenging day. I met some girlfriends for dinner at Carmines. If you are familiar with Carmines [in New York City] you already know their mammoth size family style portions of Italian fare can be any dieter’s nemesis. I handled it well, if I do say so myself. I gave myself permission to enjoy for the evening. Evoking an 80/20 rule of sorts, the Dieter’s edition.

Brooklyn is for Lovers: Anslem & Starrene's E-Session
So, I must come clean. I was hesitant about sharing the e-session pics of nearlyweds Anslem Samuel (founder of NakedWithSocksOn.com) and Starrene “Starr” Rhett (founder of GangStarrGirl.com) because they appeared on another site that I happen to freelance for about a month ago. I had already planned to feature the pics here on Triple B and got scooped by the bigger outlet. I was annoyed. But I had no choice but to share them with you guys because they’re just that fly. The couple’s energy and love for each other is palpable. I know this couple personally and I couldn’t be happier for them. And since I know many of you recently said “Yes!” over the holidays, what better way to get inspired for your upcoming engagement session than by viewing images of this creative pair?
Like another one of my fave e-sessions, the Brooklyn-based Anslem and Starr let their location serve as a third subject of the shoot if you will. The duo was snapped on New York City’s iron horse and the equally gritty and glam Coney Island. Get ready to swoon:

High School Sweethearts LeBron James & Savannah Brinson Are Getting Hitched!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Triple B is starting off 2012 just right with this news: Bridal bliss is in order for Savannah Brinson, longtime girlfriend of NBA superstar LeBron James. James proposed to Brinson, his high school sweetheart and the mother of the couple’s two sons, on New Year’s Eve in Miami’s South Beach at SL nightclub during a private bash that doubled as his birthday party.
Both James and Brinson were in the bridal party last fall for LA Clipper’s point guard Chris Paul’s wedding to his college sweetheart Jada. While covering the star-studded nuptials, I observed the couple throughout the wedding weekend and got the impression that they’re the real deal. LeBron’s toast to Chris and Jada during the couple’s rehearsal dinner quietly revealed that he seemed to be ready to jump the broom himself. (Fun Fact: Savannah and I briefly chatted about ways to keep our waistlines tight and although she clearly has access to the best trainers and chefs in the world — and I do not — I felt like I was talking to an old girlfriend.) Read the exclusive excerpt below of my interview with Savannah at the Paul rehearsal dinner:

E-Session fun in NYC!
The photographer behind one of my all-time fave e-sessions, Ilene Squires, recently shared pics of another nearlywed couple with Triple B. While this session is quite different from her aforementioned Harlem-themed shoot and our last camping e-session feature, it certainly evokes just as much love and happiness. What I enjoy most about Tracey and Rashim’s images are the carefree attitude they display. There’s not a lot of makeup and styling, the poses are pretty basic but their connection to each other is palpable.

Who knew camping could be this sexy?
I’m so tickled about today’s feature with nearlyweds Tekeah and Tron. I remember my first and only camping trip while I was a Brownie many moons ago and let’s just say I was completely over it by the time I got home. Fast forward to a couple months ago when the uber-talented photographer Leonard Poteat sent me the e-session pics you’re about to view. They were snapped in Nottingham, Maryland (near Baltimore) and are oozing with creativity and most of all love and affection.
I now view camping in a totally different light. Like the last e-session I featured here, these images don’t need captions as they tell a story on their own. Enjoy!
