The last stint of Triple B’s USVINice Tour was St. Croix. While I had a great time in St. Thomas and St. John, I enjoyed my visit to St. Croix most. The people were friendly, my accommodations top-notch, the island is postcard-worthy gorgeous and there’s something for everyone to do — from families with small children, girlfriends seeking a fun get-a-way, fellas searching for bonding time or couples looking for a romantic retreat. These are my most memorable parts of St. Croix:
The second leg of my USVINice excursion after visiting St. Thomas was St. John. I had been to the island once very briefly on the way home from Virgin Gorda in 2010 and had been itching to return for a longer stay. I was so pumped to see what St. John had to offer. Here’s what I discovered: [Read more…]
Last month I had the pleasure of visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands as part of a USVINice initiative. (!) I, along with about ten other lifestyle bloggers and digital influencers, headed down to the Caribbean for a chance to experience the beauty of island life in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. There’s so much useful information to share about destination weddings, honeymoons and bachelor/ette getaways that I’m giving each island their own post. Find out what people, places and things in St. Thomas are now on the Triple B radar and why they should be on yours, too! [Read more…]
“Man can plan but God can hinder.”
Growing up, I listened to my North Carolina-born mom and grandmother recite the above sentence countless times and it typically left me perplexed. Now as a married, 30-something year-old woman I get it. In fact, my new marriage and now postponed honeymoon are prime examples of this saying.
Before I get into the who, what and why of my honeymoon being postponed, let me explain a few things: I work in an industry where frontin’ is embraced. I thought long and hard about whether or not I wanted to post this because I was nervous about oversharing and exposing too much of me and the hubby’s business to the world wide web. But upon careful consideration, I concluded (after running it by him) that I should because if I experienced it, someone else probably has, too. So here goes… [Read more…]
BlackBridalBliss.com Random Confession #63: I adore journals and notebooks almost as much as I do stationery. I realize the rest of the world is all about digital, but doggonit I still enjoy scribbling down my thoughts, dreams, frustrations and even fears on paper. Thus my latest Triple B Pick of the Week is the Honeymoon Recollections Panama Notebook ($80) from Smythson of Bond Street. Why? [Read more…]
Shortly after Mr. TK proposed, we made the decision to go someplace exotic (by our standards anyway) for our honeymoon. We both enjoy traveling so we wanted to do it up big. We decided on Italy, specifically southern Italy along the Amalfi Coast and Capri. However the reality was that as we got closer to our Charlotte, NC wedding celebration, we had to make the challenging decision to postpone our honeymoon until this year. Our consolation? A minimoon! Triple B just discovered a travel resource that could possibly be a lifesaver for nearlyweds or newlyweds in the honeymoon planning stages. I just learned of Encore Romance Travel on Instagram earlier this week via Chic Brown Bride. (Thanks again, Danielle!) Encore caught my attention and I think they should be on your radar, too. Here’s why: Encore specializes in off the beaten path honeymoon packages, custom packages and all-inclusive honeymoons. There is even an option called mystery honeymoons for the truly adventurous couple. Encore owner Brenda says, “I am passionate about traveling, discovering the world and I love helping other busy couples create the honeymoon of their dreams.” Good stuff, right? [Read more…]
Blame it on the unseasonably chilly temps in New York City but I’ve been thinking about vacations a lot these days. Which has me pondering about honeymoon registries… First and foremost, contrary to traditional belief, I don’t think they’re tacky (as long as it isn’t mentioned anywhere on the invitation). Whether or not I will actually use them for my own union is up for debate but I do think modern registries like those offered by Amazon and Hatch My House are super cool and practical. But back to honeymoon registries…There are several out there and since I will be checking them out with the beau pretty soon to see if they fit our desires and needs, I figured I should share my findings here on Triple B.
