MUST-SEE Wedding Trailer – Tish & Eric
The “Here Comes the Bride” sign carrier is adorable. The snippets of the couple and their guests offering commentary throughout the video remind me of Three Ring Media‘s fresh documentary style videography. The bride is freakin’ gorgeous. And I love that she kept her hair curly for her wedding day. The venue is so charming (I have a thing for at-home weddings…This home happens to belong to actor/singer Tyrese but it was intimate and magical; not pretentious.) The song selections were kinda perfect. The groom has a palpable sense of humor and it was allowed to shine in this video. Did I mention the bride is gorgeous? It seemed as though all the guests were genuinely beaming with happiness for the couple.
Don’t believe any of this or think I’m exaggerating? Just watch. [Read more...]
(Not Quite) Tie the Knot Tuesday – Bridgette & Mr. TK
Last month my fiance and I took engagement pictures in our New York City stomping grounds. We chose the talented Kesha Lambert to capture the pics. The equally talented Charlene Armstrong did my make-up (I really like how she made my eyes pop!). My fiance — who I’m lovingly referring to as Mr. TK in this post — and I decided to take most of our e-session pics in and around The Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park, located in Inwood, NY. Inwood is just a stone’s throw away from Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan. The Cloisters are in my top fave places in The Big Apple partly because it isn’t on the radar of most folks the way Central Park is and I happen to like that. Fort Tryon Park is also where Mr. TK took me for what I thought was an impromptu date the day he proposed so it will always hold a special significance to us as a couple. I had a really hard time narrowing down selects for today’s (Not Quite) Tie the Knot Tuesday feature. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as we enjoyed taking them.

Bridgette’s Pick of the Week – Unplugged Weddings
Ever since The Huffington Post published this piece about “unplugged weddings” the bridal industry has been buzzing even more about them. (Truthfully the term is a couple years old.) And since I promised in the comments of this post that I would address the trend here on BBB I decided to make it my Pick of the Week. In short, an unplugged wedding is one that discourages guests from taking pics and moreover frowns upon Tweeting, Facebooking, Intagraming, etc. during the affair. Here are the immediate benefits to unplugged nuptials: [Read more...]
Tie the Knot Tuesday (THROWBACK) – Nana & Akinola
This week’s Tie the Knot Tuesday is a flashback wedding trailer! Although the couple Nana and Akinola wed over three years ago, everything in this trailer is still relevant. As a planning bride myself, I find this inspiring because selecting decor, fashion and music for a timeless wedding trailer seems easy but is not an easy feat. Also take note of the couple’s inclusion of their African backgrounds (the bride is Ghanian and the groom Nigerian) at the end. Enjoy this treat and leave me a comment with your fave part of the video. [Read more...]
(Not Quite) Tie the Knot Tuesday – Kim & William
Meet Kim and William! The handsome couple shares their stylish engagement session with Triple B today for (Not Quite) Tie the Knot Tuesday. The duo was shot by the talented Chad Pennington — remember this steamy e-session he captured? Kim and William are planning to wed in Northern New Jersey this fall. They decided to shoot this e-session in NYC’s trendy Meatpacking District because they often frequent the area for dates. I decided to let the pics speak for themselves so there are no captions today; none needed. Enjoy and be sure to check out Kim’s fierce shoes!
(Not Quite) Tie the Knot Tuesday – Jessica & Kevin
Skilled photographer Leonard Poteat landed yet another lovely pair of nearlyweds to shoot for memorable Washington, D.C. engagement portraits. Poteat is a friend of Triple B — feel free to revisit some of his past work here. Remember this innovative camping themed e-session he shot? Now meet Jessica and Kevin, who are scheduled to say “I Do” later this month, in the below gallery and be sure to leave a comment sharing which pic is your fave. Jessica and Kevin began their fun e-session at D.C.’s sleek Hotel Monaco before making a few other stops in the area including Red Velvet Cupcakery. (Confession: They’re all pretty fab but the cupcake ones left me swooning.) Enjoy! [Read more...]
