Bridgette’s Pick of the Week – Ombre Nails

Something blue? Megastar Beyonce opted for azul nails on her wedding day but this ombre look even takes it up a notch!
Ombre nails have been on my radar since the spring but I just realized I never mentioned them here on Triple B. There are so many variations of the fun trend, whether you’re super conservative or a big risk-taker. [Read more...]
Bridgette’s Pick of the Week – Kai Perfume Oil
For many brides-to-be searching for the perfect fragrance to wear on their big day is a very important assignment. The scent should seemingly be inviting and long-lasting but not over-bearing. And I imagine something that will make your sweetie want to hold you even tighter is also a requirement. Enter: Kai Perfume Oil. [Read more...]
Bridgette’s Pick of the Week: Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray
This week’s pick has a cult following that includes veteran makeup artists and finicky beauty bloggers alike. Triple B, word on the street is Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Spray is the truth! This spray claims to set the wearer’s makeup in place flawlessly, give skin a dewy finish and even protect makeup from the elements, tears (there are sure to be lots of those on your wedding day) and stay put for up to 16 (!) hours. I’ll be totally honest, I haven’t used it myself and I’ve never even received any for free. But after I heard the upteenth person (who I trust on beauty product reccos) rave about it this week I had to share. This spray is just perfect for brides and I love that it is paraben-free, hypoalergenic and pretty affordable at $29 for 4 ounces. (There’s a travel-size available for $12, too.) Just think, you and your entire bridal party can use this so your twenty-nine bucks will go a long way. Many bridal makeup artists keep a bottle in their kits so check with yours before you purchase it.
New Options for Bridal Hair: Angela Simmons for Indique
I’ve preached about the perks of a bride wearing her hair natural — kinky, curly or wavy and without any extentions — on her wedding day. But some brides like their hair fried, dyed and laid to the side with a few tracks sewn in and that is totally their prerogative. Isn’t the beauty of being a woman, especially a Black woman, that our hair is so versatile? I think so. I also think this new line of hair from Indique and reality star turned fashion designer turned socialite Angela Simmons is Triple B worthy. [Read more...]
BlackBridalBliss.com & TAY GIVEAWAY Winner Revealed!
Happy Monday! Today, Triple B announces another happy giveaway winner. Jacqueline Royall of New York City is the recipient of those two awesome beauty products in the TAY skincare giveaway first mentioned a couple weeks back. Royall, who favors a diet full of organic fruits and veggies and void of meat is delighted with her Clean Orange Soap and Youthful Eye Treatment because she avoids products with sulfates and/or parabens. And just what was her winning response to the giveaway question about incorporating something green/eco-friendly into a wedding day you’re wondering? Check it out:
“I think an excellent way for someone to make their wedding day eco-friendly is by donating leftover reception food to City Harvest or a similar organization for the hungry and homeless. Or, a couple could ask their reception venue to compost as much trash from the event as possible,” shares Royall.
Sharing is indeed caring. I loved that her response suggested paying it forward. Join Triple B in congratulating Jacqueline Royall and stay tuned for more exciting giveaways on BlackBridalBliss.com in the near future.
BlackBridalBliss.com & Mizani GIVEAWAY Winner Revealed!
Remember that awesome giveaway announced a couple weeks back with haircare company, Mizani? Well, we have a winner. Her name is LaKisha Coles and she resides in Roanoke, Virginia. Here’s a very happy LaKisha holding her four (!) Mizani products that she won for being the first person to correctly respond to this question: Tell me the name of the natural hairstylist first interviewed on Triple B about wedding day hair. (Hint: She’s based in Arizona.) The answer of course is Arlette Pender of Hairlocs by Arlette.
Join me in congratulating LaKisha! And stay tuned for even bigger giveaways from Triple B in the coming weeks.
