New York couple Lauren and Frantz are scheduled to wed on a Caribbean beach hence their decision to have part of their e-session on…wait for it…a beach! In addition, the fun duo headed to a sneaker store for the second part of their photo session because that’s how they met. Cute, right?! Lauren actually worked at shoe store and now Frantz has his own sneaker and apparel company. Enjoy their pics!
What is it about those New Orleans engagement sessions? I guess a couple has no choice but to look fab in a city oozing with rich culture, gorgeous backdrops and warm (okay often hot) temps! Enter Chela and William:

Skilled photographer Leonard Poteat landed yet another lovely pair of nearlyweds to shoot for memorable Washington, D.C. engagement portraits. Poteat is a friend of Triple B — feel free to revisit some of his past work here. Remember this innovative camping themed e-session he shot? Now meet Jessica and Kevin, who are scheduled to say “I Do” later this month, in the below gallery and be sure to leave a comment sharing which pic is your fave. Jessica and Kevin began their fun e-session at D.C.’s sleek Hotel Monaco before making a few other stops in the area including Red Velvet Cupcakery. (Confession: They’re all pretty fab but the cupcake ones left me swooning.) Enjoy! [Read more...]
The talented shutterbug that is Chad Pennington sent these steamy engagement photos my way and I’m excited to share them with Triple B today. The featured nearlywed couple Dana and Will met in junior high school! It’s always nice when couple’s can take it back to where they met for their engagement photos. As you’ll soon witness, Dana and Will’s e-session pics also have a boudoir vibe to them — enjoy! [Read more...]

When submitting her pictures Shantel informed me that she’s on Triple B all the time looking for inspiration for her spring nuptials. (Yay!) “Maybe our photos will help other brides too,” she shared. Enjoy the engagement pictures of nearlywed couple Shantel and Kendrick!
So, I must come clean. I was hesitant about sharing the e-session pics of nearlyweds Anslem Samuel (founder of NakedWithSocksOn.com) and Starrene “Starr” Rhett (founder of GangStarrGirl.com) because they appeared on another site that I happen to freelance for about a month ago. I had already planned to feature the pics here on Triple B and got scooped by the bigger outlet. I was annoyed. But I had no choice but to share them with you guys because they’re just that fly. The couple’s energy and love for each other is palpable. I know this couple personally and I couldn’t be happier for them. And since I know many of you recently said “Yes!” over the holidays, what better way to get inspired for your upcoming engagement session than by viewing images of this creative pair?
Like another one of my fave e-sessions, the Brooklyn-based Anslem and Starr let their location serve as a third subject of the shoot if you will. The duo was snapped on New York City’s iron horse and the equally gritty and glam Coney Island. Get ready to swoon:
The photographer behind one of my all-time fave e-sessions, Ilene Squires, recently shared pics of another nearlywed couple with Triple B. While this session is quite different from her aforementioned Harlem-themed shoot and our last camping e-session feature, it certainly evokes just as much love and happiness. What I enjoy most about Tracey and Rashim’s images are the carefree attitude they display. There’s not a lot of makeup and styling, the poses are pretty basic but their connection to each other is palpable.
I’m so tickled about today’s feature with nearlyweds Tekeah and Tron. I remember my first and only camping trip while I was a Brownie many moons ago and let’s just say I was completely over it by the time I got home. Fast forward to a couple months ago when the uber-talented photographer Leonard Poteat sent me the e-session pics you’re about to view. They were snapped in Nottingham, Maryland (near Baltimore) and are oozing with creativity and most of all love and affection.
I now view camping in a totally different light. Like the last e-session I featured here, these images don’t need captions as they tell a story on their own. Enjoy!
I know many of you are salty with me for yesterday’s MIA Tie the Knot Tuesday. (I’ll spare you any dog ate my homework excuses.) So, I come with gifts today: e-session images of Maryland nearlyweds Robyn and Victor! EyeWonder Photography in Silver Spring, Maryland did a fab job shooting this gorgeous couple in the same Washington, D.C. location Victor popped the question. They are scheduled to wed in their homestate of Maryland next month and have already agreed to have their nuptials showcased here on Triple B. (No, there aren’t the typical Triple B captions for these images but the pics speak for themselves.)
I’m particularly happy to profile Tie the Knot Tuesday weddings and even e-sessions like this one since every other day for the past couple of weeks I read another depressing report about Black women and marriage. It is lame and exhausting (more on that later). In the meantime, let this couple’s smiles make you smile.
Hey Triple B! Need to relieve wedding planning stress? Try a beachside love shoot! If you know our story, then our beach location should come as no surprise. It’s where we got engaged and is our favourite place to be on a beautiful day. Last Saturday we headed to one of the best beaches in Toronto, Ashbridge’s Bay. It was important for us to have our good friend and Sean’s best man Jose Roldan capture the moment. Special thanks as well to my friend, the multi-talented Natasha Waterman for doing my hair and makeup. And I’ve been instructed by Sean to send a very special shout out to our camera, the Canon Rebel T2i which Jose used to take our photos. Yes, you read that right…our camera. I mean who sends a shout out to their camera? Sean said all the guys out there would get it. Sigh…
Enjoy the photos!
Today’s featured couple hasn’t made it down the aisle yet…but their engagement photos are fun, stylish and personable so I wanted to share them with ya. Plus — like every (honest) couple — they have a story to tell. I hope to tell more of their story when I feature their wedding in Tie the Knot Tuesday later this year (no pressure to the couple though, ahem). These lovely images were captured by Washington, DC-based photographer Leonard Poteat. Enjoy and be sure to let me know which pic is your favorite!
Earlier this week my girl CJ shared a link to a stunning engagement session and I immediately shared it with the extended Triple B family on Facebook and Twitter (please “like” and “follow” us if you aren’t already). The e-session was shot by the talented Ilene Squires who welcomed me to post the pictures here as well. It is my pleasure to do so. The featured couple are equally adorable and inspiring. I’m hoping to feature their wedding in Tie the Knot Tuesday when they do get hitched. (hint, hint…) Enjoy!
