Celebrant Kim Kirkley (middle) at work!

While many of you always knew the longtime pastor of your family’s Baptist church would officiate your wedding ceremony, many others struggle with finding the appropriate person to perform this important duty. Like Samilah and Ted, a growing number of couples come from two very different cultural and religious backgrounds and/or just rather not skew their wedding toward one religious faith.

Enter Kim Kirkley of Our Elegant Ceremony to the rescue.

Kirkley is an attorney tuned ordained celebrant and non-denominational minister who delights in creating personalized wedding ceremonies. Based in the Big Apple, she strives for authenticity and avoids cookie-cutter ceremonies. Her work has been praised by many a bridal magazine but her most recent feature in the New York Weddings magazine really impressed me. This quote from the seasoned wedding professional particularly made me pause, “I always hope to fall a little bit in love with all the couples I work with. If I can’t authentically be happy for them, then that’s not the ceremony for me.” After I visited her site, I was equally impressed with her take on blended families.

Info for how to reach Kirkley can be found here and as always be sure to mention Black Bridal Bliss sent ya!
