Bridgette Bartlett Royall is an award-winning content creator with more than a decade of editorial experience. A Fashion Institute of Technology graduate, she’s the former Research Chief at Essence.com where she covered the nuptials of real people and celebrities weekly for the site’s bridal feature which she started. Under her direction it became one of the brand’s most viewed digital franchises. She also contributed to the magazine’s award-winning “Will You Marry Me?” campaign for the inaugural three years.
Since launching Black Bridal Bliss in 2010, Royall has provided her lifestyle expertise to a host of media outlets including PEOPLE, Essence, Teen Vogue and HuffingtonPost Weddings. Uptown magazine’s Weddings & Travel Special Issue has repeatedly recognized BlackBridalBliss.com in their coveted Gold Pages directory. Royall’s vast travel coverage includes an array of destinations from Charleston, South Carolina to Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands as she scouts the best destination wedding, honeymoon and bachelorette getaway locales for her audience. In 2011, Royall covered the star-studded Charlotte nuptials of NBA superstar Chris Paul for ESSENCE, and in 2012 she was named one of The Root’s “Best Bloggers.” In February 2013, Royall was featured in her own episode of TLC’s breakout hit bridal-themed reality television show Something Borrowed, Something New. In May 2014, the Queens, New York native was a featured empowerment speaker on the Laurel, Maryland stop of the “Road to ESSENCE Festival” tour and in June 2014, Black Bridal Bliss was named a “Best Wedding Blog” by ESSENCE.
She resides in New York City with her husband, pet snakes Magic + Rainbow and thinks HGTV House Hunters and Law & Order: SVU marathons are golden.
