There’s been exciting activity in the way of marriage and engagement for a couple of your favorite singers and athletes this month. Read all about them! (For some of you this is “old” news as I’ve already shared the below updates on Facebook and Twitter… But, I thought it would be remiss not to post here on the blog as well.) First up? Grammy-winning singer Brandy got engaged [Read more...]
Do men really have a problem dating successful women? Better yet, do men truly have an issue committing to successful women? F.Y.I. – There is a difference between dating and committing. I’ve dated multiple six figure earners. Two of these relationships were when six figures were still viewed as a huge deal. Several of my friends have also dated women that most would deem successful. Several of these relationships have graduated into marriage. Few have ended as a result the woman’s success – well, kinda. [Read more...]
Since 2012 is officially winding down, I decided to round up my favorite posts of the year. (Magazine folks like me get a kick out of doing things like this.) So take a walk down memory lane with Triple B and leave a comment with your own picks. Happy Holidays, folks!
I have a confession: Since I’ve been engaged, the news of couples getting divorced gives me a case of the heebeegeebees. It saddened me before but now it actually more than saddens me; it scares me a little too. I realize this might seem self-absorbed but I’m being honest here. The most recent news of this kind was that of Tom Joyner and Donna Richardson. They were a seemingly “real” couple and had been married for 12 years. To give you context, the news of Evelyn and Chad splitting didn’t sadden me. I know, I know… I shouldn’t let what others do (or not do) influence me. And trust me, I’ve never been more confident that I want to marry my fiance than I am now. However, I cannot deny that stories like those of Tom and Donna calling it quits make me ponder. I ask myself, Did they really try to make it work? Did they truly give it their all? What was the final straw that made them throw in the towel and walk away from their vows? [Read more...]
I’ve already shared this video on Facebook and Twitter but you guys know I’m a bona fide sucka for a good wedding trailer so I had to make this my pick of the week on the site, too. This couple got down for their first dance. How cool are those masks?! So creative and just plain ‘ole fun — I’m sure their entire reception was a blast!
If my fiance and I did anything remotely like this it would surprise all our guests because he’s not a big fan of dancing. Will you or did you and your significant other shake a tailfeather like this couple did for your wedding’s first dance? Why or why not?

In the hair salon recently, another client offered me, her stylist and my stylist a sip of a new fruity liqueur named Le Sutra to get our opinions on an exciting venture she and her husband had just launched. Said salon has considerable clientele who work in the media, fashion/beauty and entertainment industries so there’s usually a good amount of networking going on between wash and sets. As previously mentioned, I’m not a big alcohol drinker but as soon as I saw the packaging of this liqueur, I was intrigued. That’s right, before I even tasted it! Why? The packaging was gorgeous and I immediately thought it would be perfect for a wedding and/or a bachelorette celebration. [Read more...]
Every December the ultimate authority on all things related to color, Pantone, announces the hot hue of the upcoming year. Yesterday, Pantone declared that emerald (17-5641) will be the “it” color of 2013. The company describes the chosen shade of green as “Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.” [Read more...]
