I’m Bridgette, founder + editor of Black Bridal Bliss.

I launched Black Bridal Bliss (Triple B) five months after getting laid off from my “good job”. The first bride featured was a former teen mom who is now a successful registered nurse. Her wedding infused beautiful Caribbean traditions (Hello, black cake and steel pan band!) that I knew mainstream outlets wouldn’t find significant. It felt great to shift the narrative and showcase a range of Black women being cherished, adored and living their best lives with their partners.

Over the past 10 years, Triple B has become a trusted resource for all things bridal from engagements to honeymoons. I’ve provided lifestyle expertise to outlets including PEOPLE, Teen Vogue, The Chicago Tribune, The Tom Joyner Morning Show and Refinery 29. I have interviewed celebrities such as Ayesha Curry, LeBron James, Alicia Keys and Gabrielle Union about life and love.

In 2013 ahead of my nuptials, I was featured on my own episode of TLC’s reality television show Something Borrowed, Something New. After jumping the broom myself, I desired more from Triple B. I guess attempting to live the vows I recited led me to yearn for resources that encouraged and empowered couples who just didn’t want a beautiful wedding, but also a beautiful marriage. I struggled with how to authentically evolve Black Bridal Bliss. In 2020, BlackBridalBliss.com was relaunched as a lifestyle platform beyond bridal. We provide original content, host exclusive events, sell custom merchandise and more!

What else? I’m the proud mom to a sweet baby boy and a Fashion Institute of Technology alum who has also studied at New York University and American Intercontinental University in London. Oh, and I think HGTV House Hunters and Law & Order: SVU marathons are golden.
