The last stint of Triple B’s USVINice Tour was St. Croix. While I had a great time in St. Thomas and St. John, I enjoyed my visit to St. Croix most. The people were friendly, my accommodations top-notch, the island is postcard-worthy gorgeous and there’s something for everyone to do — from families with small children, girlfriends seeking a fun get-a-way, fellas searching for bonding time or couples looking for a romantic retreat. These are my most memorable parts of St. Croix:
The second leg of my USVINice excursion after visiting St. Thomas was St. John. I had been to the island once very briefly on the way home from Virgin Gorda in 2010 and had been itching to return for a longer stay. I was so pumped to see what St. John had to offer. Here’s what I discovered: [Read more...]
Last month I had the pleasure of visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands as part of a USVINice initiative. (!) I, along with about ten other lifestyle bloggers and digital influencers, headed down to the Caribbean for a chance to experience the beauty of island life in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. There’s so much wonderful information to share about destination weddings, honeymoons and bachelor/ette getaways that I’m giving each island their own post. Find out what people, places and things in St. Thomas are now on the Triple B radar and why they should be on yours, too! [Read more...]
This week’s pick is different from most of my previous selections but for good reason. I’m taking a quick break from bridal items to highlight the hard work of a colleague turned good friend, Patrik Henry Bass. Patrik’s latest literary creation, The Zero Degree Zombie Zone, includes riveting illustrations by Jerry Craft and chronicles the fictional life of a shy fourth-grader named Bakari Katari Johnson. So now that you know what to do, see and eat in Charleston, here is a handy-dandy cheat sheet of trusted vendors to help you plan your wedding in the charming southern city. All of these folks should be used to working with out-of-town couples who might not reside anywhere near Charleston. A huge and sincere thank-you to Dr. Valerie Frazier-Gresham of the Charleston Multicultural Bridal and Events Association for assisting with this list.

Back in February, the hubby and I headed below the Mason Dixon line for some R&R. We initially chose Charleston, South Carolina because JetBlue was having a sale. We figured it would be a nice getaway for my birthday, a quick escape from NYC’s harsh winter and a chance to experience a new city together. Both of our expectations were pretty low. Man, were we pleasantly surprised! [Read more...]

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Accessories Council’s Top Picks Bridal Event. (Check out Triple B’s IG for behind-the-scenes images and video.) Don’t believe the headline? Just watch for yourself below. Oh and word on the street is that the couple, who has had their relationship under quite a bit of scrutiny since getting engaged, also mailed out traditional paper save-the-dates with a heart motif back in May. Smart to have both just in case some folks — i.e. Nana and ‘em — aren’t feeling the digital correspondence for such an important day. [Read more...]
