How long have you been designing weddings?
I have planned a range of events including national conferences and weddings across the U.S. for over 15 years. As the owner and CEO of The EnVISION Firm, it as been two years and going strong.

Where is the farthest distance you’ve ever traveled for a wedding you planned? 
All the weddings I’ve completed have been local to D.C,, Virginia, and Maryland although I’ve planned events as far as Hawaii. I can’t wait to plan a wedding in the Caribbean!

What’s one thing you wished more couples did on their wedding day?
I wish more couples would take time to enjoy the day and not stress about little things. It’s so true that the day goes by extremely fast. My team and I work hard to take care of all details of their special day and take pride in ensuring their vision comes to life.

Name a wedding trend you’re over.
Chair covers! There are so many options for chair décor that adds to the elegance of the space but chair covers is not one of them. Leave those back in the 80s and 90s.

Name a wedding trend you’re excited about.
First, I admire when the bride and groom choose to honor their parents during the wedding. This can be done by giving a rose to the mother of the bride and groom or leaving a handwritten note on their chair at the ceremony. Secondly, it always warms my heart to see the bride dance with her father and/or the groom share a two-step with his mother. Weddings are about bringing two families together and what a better way than to see the moment shared with the bride/groom and their parents.

I never work a wedding without my trusty…
I would never work a wedding without my team. There are so many moving parts with weddings that it’s extremely important for me to have great assistants to make sure they all fall into place. I’m a firm believer that every great leader has a great team working alongside them.

My celebrity dream couple to work with is…
My celebrity dream couple to work with would be Oprah and Stedman. Every event that I’ve seen Oprah host embodies everything The EnVISION Firm exemplifies! Our goal is to create an experience for all those in attendance. From what I’ve seen, Oprah approaches her events the same way. It would be an honor to work with her and Stedman.

The best part of my job is…
Seeing happy clients! I’m assisting with creating their vision and nothing gives me more pleasure than to see a satisfied look on their faces. Having been a bride myself recently, I think I share a similar perspective as my couples. I understand the anxiety they may have. Also, I have a background as a Professional Project Manager (PMP) so I enjoy using my organization and management skills combined with my creative side to design each event differently. When I started my company, most of my friends said they weren’t surprised that I was finally putting my passion toward serving others in this capacity.
