Black Bridal Bliss became aware of today’s featured wedding via Facebook. In three words: It is everything. So much soul. So much love. Watch and enjoy! And then watch it again and forward it to your friends.
Two weeks ago in New Orleans, Tony Oluwatoyin Lawson and Shantrelle Patrice Lewis, (co-founders of Shoppe Black) jumped the broom at the Ace Hotel in New Orleans. The nuptials were an authentic blend of their New Orleanian and Nigerian heritage. 80% of the wedding vendors were Black. The hashtag #jollofandjambalaya was created for the big day to symbolize joining of two rich and beautiful cultures. (For those not aware, jollof rice is commonly eaten in West Africa and most Nigerians take their jollof very seriously while jambalaya is a popular traditional dish throughout the U.S. Gulf region and especially in Nawlins.)
BONUS: The couple are both proud graduates of Howard University and Shantrelle is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We’re smitten with the video below. Regardless of how you feel about historically Black sororities and fraternities, there’s something special about the unique bonds they can form as exuded here.
Triple B hearts when a second line is incorporated into a wedding (Can you blame us?) so we had to share. Leave a comment with your thoughts on this wedding and be sure to wish the couple and their new union well. Check out more fab New Orleans nuptials here! Since today is Giving Tuesday, it is important to note that choosing to get married in a city like New Orleans can be a significant way to give back to a community in need.

This wedding was so much fun from the parade to the sorority songs! I also hope to incorporate my sorority traditions at my upcoming wedding. #blackloveisbeautiful #sorority goals
