Most of us — whether we’re planning brides or not — are trying to get and stay more fit these days. And a significant part of this quest is eating healthier. My friend, and fellow bride-to-be, Tianna Feaster recently penned a cookbook that can assist us all with doing just that. Tianna’s book, Feast Your Eyes on This, is full of yummy yet nutritious recipes that even the most challenged folks in the kitchen will appreciate. And [insert long drumroll here…] Tianna, who has been featured in ESSENCE magazine and is a regular expert guest on WUSA-9 News in Washington, D.C., has given an autographed copy of her book to Triple B for the latest GIVEAWAY! Here’s all you need to do to win:
In the comments, share the name and a brief description of your go-to dish for your sweetie (or anyone you want to sit up and pay attention!). You can also share the name and a brief description of the dish your sweetie prepares for you when he/she wants to get your attention. You all know what I mean — haha! The healthier the recipe, the better your chances are for winning this awesome book. And if your dish is a remix of a traditionally not-so healthy dish — even better. For example, if you cook a bangin’ lasagna that makes your honey melt in your hands with wheat pasta and seafood instead of red meat and white noodles; I’d love to hear about it.
Annnnnnnd go! (My mouth is watering just thinking about your responses.)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The deadline for entering this GIVEAWAY is midnight EST on Thursday, May 30th.
My girls and I learned how to cook this shrimp and angel hair pasta dish that is delicious! The shrimp is in a creamy sauce. I don’ know how healthy it is but all of our dudes loved it. My man and I broke up a couple times after that (ish happens!) but eventually we did get back together and now I’m planning my June 2014 wedding.
I make a mean stir-fry dish that my fiance loves! It has peppers, onions, baby corn and snap peas. You can prepare it with any protein of your choice, we like chicken because neither of us eat steak but my girlfriend cooks it with tofu too. I serve over brown rice. It can be served over pasta also. I’m getting hungry as I type this. LOL! I hope I win.
I’m sure Bridgette will not choose me to win, but I feel I have to try my luck. My shrimp alfredo with steamed broccoli has allowed for more second dates than I can remember. I thinking that has to count for something, right?
My fiance loves trying all of my “unique” cooking creations. His favorite is my oatmeal bake. It’s just oatmeal, baking powder, and a mashed banana all mixed together and then baked for 15 minutes at 375*
:)
Great answers thus far! Keep it coming, folks!
And Mars – You are correct that you will not be winning the cookbook in this GIVEAWAY but I do appreciate your feedback. (hahahaha)
Eggplant Parm is my go-to dish. I don’t know if it will qualify as healthy (b/c of the cheese), but it gets him all the time.
I love to cook and plan to open a restaurant and write a cookbook myself. So kudos to your friend. To set the mood for my man. I have a candlelight dinner. This sets it off everytime! Garlic Salmon with Peach and Mango Chutney. First we start off with Spring mix salad with cranberries, caramelized chopped walnuts, and goat cheese, this will be mix with a very light raspberry vinaigrette dressing . Over the salad I will have a mini vegetable shish kabob, this will have mini cherry tomatoes and cucumber chunks , next on the menu is Baked Garlic Season Salmon, with fresh pear/peaches and mango chutney glaze, This can be use over the salmon or on the side. I add a little pepper to give it some kick, for the side dish I will have either homemade Spinach Mash Potatoes, or Zucchini and Spinach Gratin. Usually when I make these dishes for him I always have a signature drink. I am so hungry now!
Is this book in stores yet? I can’t cook w/out a cookbook. Didn’t find it when I searched.
