Many refer to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Annual Costume Institute Ball in NYC as the biggest night in fashion. (Attending this coveted event is still on my bucket list.) This year’s theme celebrates famed American designer Charles James. As usual Triple B has rounded up the most memorable looks of the evening just for you. There was loads of bridal inspiration on last night’s red carpet so get ready to swoon. Enjoy!
Wedding Day Ready: These gowns could go straight from the red carpet to I Do!
Couple’s Therapy: These pairs looked good solo on the red carpet but even better with their spouses by their side. (Talk about a hot date night!)
Which look is your fave and why?
I’m not feeling Melo’s look & Kanye seems uncomfortable. All of the ladies look great (but V.B. needs a cheeseburger).
The views expressed by Cousin Mars may or may not represent the views of Triple B. (just in case anyone is offended)
@Mars – Hee-larious…especially your disclosure at the end! (I do agree that Ye looks uncomfortable.)
The Stadoudmeire’s look well appointed and classy as do the Beckhams. I love Victoria’s dress, it’s hot. Kendall looks good and Kanye looks strange. As of late, I’m coming to the conclusion that less skin covered is seeming trashier than ever before. Speaking for myself and no one else.
Alexis and Amaré take the cake! Elegant and glowing from the inside. SJP always turns up for this looking either lovely or ‘interesting’. Would someone please choke LaLa’s stylist?
@SD + Ronda – Agreed. Although I did think that Beyonce showed a lot in a tasteful and classy way. And Rihanna’s visible midsection didn’t bother me because…well…it’s Rihanna. (shrugs shoulders) I also find SJP’s playful approach to fashion refreshing.
@Mars- I say cheeseburgers all around for these ladies! I was once told that our men prefer curves to sharp edges! Ha ha.
I think skin can be tasteful but the waters are muddied by the placement of the cut-outs and the increasing density of tattoos. I must admit, however, that if I could rock Rhianna’s dress without body shame, I’d wear it to work today! j/k.
What did you all think of Lupita’s attire? I noticed that it was absent from the list (LOL!) Seriously though, I thought it was interesting, very interesting.
@Aunt Zee – Lupita’s look was “interesting” indeed… She simply didn’t make the cut for this post. :-/
