I recently headed out to the borough of Long Island (for you non-New Yorkers, Long Island isn’t really a borough — this is my attempt to be funny) for a visit to Truth + Beauty Spa. This posh medi-spa opened Spring 2013 and offers a wide range of treatments for brides-to-be. So when the invitation for me and a friend to spend an afternoon at Truth + Beauty landed in my inbox, I was all in! Here’s the scoop:
WHO: There’s a little something for everyone who is looking to improve and/or maintain their skincare regimen — from lipstick to lasers — but they have special programs specifically for brides. Check out all the True Bride offerings here.
WHAT: Laser hair removal, facials, eyebrow grooming, makeup application, Botox, chemical peels — they’re all available at T + B. And because it is a medi-spa, there’s also a board-certified plastic surgeon on-site to ensure all procedures are on the up and up. I had the HydraFacial during my visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was relaxing plus I got to see all the grit and grim (yuk!) that was lingering on the surface of my face.
WHERE: Located in the Roslyn Heights section of Long Island, it took me about 45 minutes to get to T+B by car from central Brooklyn.
WHY: If you’re located in southern Queens, Brooklyn or Long Island, searching for professionals to help you whip your skin into shape in preparation for the big day, are willing to spend some “change” — this isn’t ideal for the budget bride but financing is available, then consider T+B. Bonus: There’s a Soul Cycle in the same building, directly across from the spa. Founder Cori Goldfarb curates all the items sold in the retail area of the spa and as a fashion industry veteran she has discerning taste. Expect stylish finds such as Bond Street fragrances and bath treats from TAY. Truth + Beauty is chic yet comfy making it an ideal location to host a bridal shower spa party too.
WHEN: Much of Truth + Beauty’s clientele are stay-at-home moms (with live-in childcare) who have the luxury to dip into the spa mid-week for a facial or laser removal treatment. Think: The Real Housewives of Long Island. Psst. — This is great for the rest of us who typically work Monday through Friday because Saturday morning and afternoon appointments don’t fill up quickly.

Sounds nice! Lucky you ;-)
