Cousin Mars thinks – This outfit could be worn during an engagement session photo shoot. The sport coat, scarf, and shoes compliment the camouflage pants pretty nicely. The fit of the pants keeps the look “dressy” enough to get a pass and makes wearing camo trousers cool while being photographed for the pictures that will likely be used for wedding invitations and/or slide shows to be seen by grandma. The pants actually provide a tad bit of a flashback to those in their 30s or older. Of course we weren’t wearing our true size in the 90’s, but none the less it is sort of nostalgic to once again zip up a pair of “fatigue like” pants.
Venus thinks – I’m definitely thinking fall rehearsal dinner. I love the blend of the camouflage pants and plaid scarf! I probably could’ve done without the sports jacket though. I’d substitute the sports jacket for a denim shirt and possibly a tie and draped the scarf rather than tied it. Overall, for the stylish groom this look is definitely a winner.

I like this ensemble for an engagement photo shoot, too! (Not so much for a rehearsal dinner though.) I honestly never thought about it before now but in the same way that I enjoy wearing jeans with stilettos or a flirty dress with a motorcycle jacket, it is cool for guys to mix casual pieces with more dressy ones. As always, proper fit is key.
Keep it going Mars and Venus — TEAM TRIPLE B ROCKS!
This feature is highlighting the age gap for me. Although I’ve graduated from having shoes to match my handbag, mixing prints still causes concern. I’m cool with the pants and jacket but, the scarf throws it off for me. But hey, the brother’s chocolate skin and fluffy lips make me get over it real quick, lol.
I don’t like this look at all. I can’t get with the tight fitting pants. No disrespect to anyone – just my opinion.
As the Men on Film from In Living Color would say, “Hated it!”. Seriously though, it’s just not my cup of tea. I’m pretty conservative when it comes to clothes. I’m sure there are plenty of younger/more BoHo folks who love it.
I had no idea you guys were so conservative…Funny! Keep the comments coming!
I pride myself in not being an old man hating on todays trends… I like the look and the fitted pants goes nicely and look mature despite being camouflage. The scarf is a little too much for me but I’m not knocking. Comfort over couture!
I knew we wouldn’t always agree. I’m okay with that. I may just wear this outfit at the next Black Bridal Bliss Presents – Cupcakes, Cocktails, & Conversation.
I think I may win a few of you over when you see how I would rock this look. I’m just saying…
this look is great, but it’s way “fashion- forward.”
i don’t think there are many “regular guys” who could pull this look off.
the only pics i see being taken of this outfit would be for a straight-up fashion shoot (accompanied by a product list).
it would work well as a model’s portfolio entry, or (among friends) for the “black bridal bliss presents” event mentioned above.
I agree with SpikeDtr the fact that he’s chocolate does help :) but this style is particularly daring and I think he pulled it off well!
@Janee & @SpikesDtr – I’m chocolate with full (I can’t use fluffy) lips. Sooooo, am I good to go with this outfit? lol
I hate everything about this look. Every time I look at it I cringe. Why are tight pants on men still in style???? Please, let’s all sign a petition to make it stop!!!
I’m not feeling the camo pants. A little to “rugged” for any type of serious occasion and it doesn’t look right with the rest of the outfit.
