The authority on all things color, Pantone, recently announced that Radiant Orchid (#18-3224) is the hue of 2014. From Pantone’s official press release: “An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones; Radiant Orchid is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.” As you can tell, any variation of orchid or purple is pretty much adored ’round these parts. Even my engagment ring is amethyst! In addition, Radiant Orchid — already a popular wedding shade — will now be incorporated even more into floral arrangements, decor, dresses, jewelry and even more in the next twelve months. Check out these swoon-worthy pics rounded up from the Web that incorporate radiant orchid:
Are you excited about Pantone’s radiant orchid for color of the year 2014? Why/why not?
I love this color. It’s both bold and subtle, easily paired with a wide array of shades. Teyonah Parris is Wearing that dress, the power of hips. Big plus, there are so many choices of eye shadow and lip color to compliment this color. Good choice, Pantone.
This is the exact color that I picked for my girls to wear for my wedding. I had this color picked for a long time though, even before I got the ring lol! Its such a beautiful color!
I use to like purple, but now it seems like a common color for wedding. Its a beautiful color and comes in all shades, the color purple means royalty so I see the popularity but I don’t like things that are too common. Teyonah Parris looks very nice in this dress.
I had decided on this color for my bridesmaids two years ago, but like Evolme4412 mentioned, it has now become a common color. I am thinking of adding an accent color so it doesn’t appear so common. Love the color though!!
I appreciate these comments, y’all! Keep ’em coming.
