I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. Can you believe all the weddings that took place this weekend? I mean we knew that former first daughter Chelsea Clinton was tying the knot to her longtime beau Marc Mezvinsky in a lavish upstate New York ceremony. But who knew that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz and Tiny and T.I. would get hitched on the same day as well?
While rumors have been swirling that Alicia and Swizz were trying to jump the broom before their little bambino was born, well…they were just rumors. But on Saturday, the couple wed in an intimate ceremony at a private residence on the Mediterranean Sea. The couple’s friend Dr. Deepak Chopra presided over the nuptials. The 12-time Grammy winner wore a Grecian style Vera Wang gown that stylishly flattered her baby bump (remember this post?), a pair of simple thong sandals and a vintage-inspired jeweled headpiece. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek bun and her makeup was classy and minimal. She was glowing. Lots of folks have lots to say about this marriage and pregnancy but I know way too little to comment on how she and Swizz got together. They have a much higher power to answer to on that matter. But the chick was flawless (Hey, she was!) and I wish all parties involved peace.
On the other side of the Atlantic, down in M-I-A, the self-proclaimed King of the
South, T.I. and his sweetie R&B singer Tiny said “I Do”, too. Many of their friends in the entertainment biz came out including Monica who was a member of the bridal party, Bow Wow, Angela Simmons, Ashanti and Usher. Tiny wore a strapless, tiered chiffon gown for the ceremony and changed into a hot, short sequin number for her reception. I hear that some of T.I.’s new music was played at the reception and that guests were treated to a firework display in honor of the newlyweds. The pair allegedly hosted a huge bash in Vegas to further celebrate their union.
And last but certainly not least, DJ Jazzy Jeff (yeah, that dude who used to rock with Will Smith) wed his honey and mother of his twins, Lynette Jackson, on Saturday, too. Reportedly the wedding took place in the Caribbean with lots of family and close friends.

CONGRATS to all the couples!
Also, read this WWD article on the importance of wedding dresses after the big day. Very interesting stuff.
