I attended the “Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Celebrate Romance” expo at NYC’s posh Plaza Hotel last week. (I actually prefer boutique hotels such as the Gansevoort but whenever I go to the Plaza I feel like a grown-up.) Anyway, the event was very informative and I’ll have loads of great stuff to share with you guys in the coming weeks. Today I’m providing a sampling of a few things I uncovered that you can take advantage of now:
* The Starwood Caribbean Collection (This includes The Westin St. John Resort and Villas pictured above.) When you book your wedding at a participating Starwood hotel or resort, you can earn Starpoints which can be redeemed for free nights at over 900 hotels and resorts worldwide. Plus, Starpoints are awarded at contract signing so you can plan your honeymoon right away. Click here for more info.
* Atlantis – Paradise Island, Bahamas Book your wedding at Atlantis and receive a complimentary 3-night return stay for your first anniversary. Click here for more info.
* The One & Only Ocean Club – Bahamas The One & Only is a much more
intimate (and expensive) alternative to Atlantis but if you can afford it, check them out. I attended a wedding here a few years ago and the property is simply divine. Although the resort is high-end they are offering extensive deals for wedding celebrations and even have a few specials for a “ladies escape” or bachelorette weekend. Click here for more info or call 800.321.3000.
Thinking you might just elope? I have you covered, too. * Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa, Located on a 30-acre peninsula at Bermuda’s western coast
This resort often hosts weddings for just the bride and the groom. (Such a fly concept to me.) Right now, through December 31,2010, the Cambridge Intimate Wedding Package is only $800 (add-on to accommodations)! The package includes several cool incentives like a wedding planner, minister, marriage license and even breakfast in bed the morning following the wedding. Couples also have the option of an “a al carte” wedding to customize their day. There are other inviting packages as well so call 800.468.7300 or visit their site for more info.
You’re welcome!
nice post. thanks.
These are really great honeymoon options. We took ours in Fiji and I highly recommend this heavenly and tiny little resort with the most incredible staff, amazing food and relaxing atmosphere. I have never been treated so well. There are only 16 bungalows for a max of 32 adult guests at one time. I still dream about it: http://www.qamea.com/
