The reality show we all love to hate is returning for a brand new season. On June 12, the newest crop of Bridezillas comes to WEtv. (On the same day Amsale Girls is scheduled to debut and as a huge fan of the designer, I’m truly excited about the addition of this show on the network’s reality wedding lineup!) The folks over at WEtv sent me an advance copy of the season’s premiere episode so here’s a little (spoiler-free) feedback:

Expect the usual suspects of disrespectful and delusional brides this season, folks. The premiere episode features a bride named Erica, 25 and her fiance Will who is also 25. The Louisiana couple met on Facebook and Will quickly describes their relationship as dysfunctional. Highlights of Erica’s performance (it truly felt like a performance) include her throwing her sister Jamika’s bookbag in the trash because she chose to complete her schoolwork over helping with favors, making her mother cry and yelling at her like a classmate in the schoolyard and ripping up her own wedding day song list after snatching it out of Will’s hand.

*BLANK STARE*

I’ve never been clear on what the payoff of watching these shows is for planning brides (feel free to enlighten me in the comments) but I’m pretty sure it is slim to none. I get the whole “trainwrecks sell” factor from a marketing standpoint but why on Earth do the husbands-to-be agree to marry these women? Perhaps we’ll find out as the season progresses…I doubt it though.
