With so many celebrity nuptials taking place this summer, it is kinda easy to let one slip under the radar. But Triple B would truly be remiss if the marriage of Kerry Washington was not covered here. The Bronx, New York born and bred Scandal star kept her marriage to Nigerian NFL corner back (San Francisco 49ers) Nnamdi Asomugha hush, hush for weeks before the masses got wind of it. How does an A-list Hollywood actress like Kerry Washington pull this off you’re wondering?
Well that just might be the question of the year and one that likely will not be answered anytime soon. It has been confirmed that the attractive pair tied the knot in a very private ceremony in Idaho. (Yes, Idaho…) When asked about her recent nuptials by PEOPLE.com Washington simply replied, “”I don’t talk about my personal life in the press, but I will say I’m really happy,” she proclaimed. “I’m blessed in all areas of my life.” Indeed she is. According to a PEOPLE.com source who attended the top-secret affair, the wedding was very intimate. “Everything was held at one of Kerry’s friend’s houses. They flew a few people out on this little private plane. The house was beautiful.” The source continued, “The ceremony took place outdoors on the property. It was small, just family and close friends. They said their own vows, people stayed at the house. It was really simple and sweet.”
Earlier this week during her red carpet appearance for an ABC/Disney event in Los Angeles, cameras managed to snap pics of Washington’s modest wedding band which appears to be channel-set with diamonds on all sides. The stylish star doesn’t seem concerned with flashing a colossal rock like so many of her industry peers. Below the diamond number, Washington wears a thin yellow-gold band, which may be the ring she exchanged with Asomugha on their wedding day but of course we can only speculate…for now.
Go, Kerri! Triple B wishes this couple a healthy and happy marriage.
Beautiful………..I wish them a lifetime of happiness.
I’m sorry if I offend anyone and you often find love across racial lines and that’s all good. I did, once. But, I have to admit that I cheer when Black celebrities, athletes and politicians, all those in the public’s scope, marry within the race. To me it debunks the belief that we hate each other and crave all things European. Just my opinion, not hating just appreciating. Congratulations to this beautiful couple, may they have a love that’s “solid as a rock.”
Congratulations to them:)
Thanks for the feedback, everyone!
