Happy Monday! Everyone is still buzzing about television personality LaLa Vazquez‘s nuptials to NBA star Carmelo Anthony. As Triple B reported earlier, we will all get a VIP pass to the star-studded wedding day this fall courtesy of VH1. In the meantime, I got the exclusive insider scoop from La La’s glam squad (hairstylist Crystal Oliver, manicurist Dawn Sterling and makeup artist Ryan B. Anthony) on how the blushing bride achieved this glowing look for her big day and how you can, too.
Hairstylist Crystal Oliver
La La and I found photos of Melanie Fiona with long tousled waves and used that as our inspiration. From there we added layers to frame her face and a middle part so her radiant face and neck line could be visible. Leading up to her big day, I gave her several deep conditioning treatments. I also prepped her with a shaping cut that aided with the layers achieved for her final look. First, I smoothed out her ends of her hair with smoothing hair dressing. Next I took medium sections and wrapped the hair around a nickel sized curling iron, curling away from her face. I held each section on curling rod for 6 seconds. After finishing the full head, it is completely curled and cooled. The last step is to run fingers through the curls to blend the sections then set with holding spay.
I absolutely could not achieve these fabulous looks without the help of Radical Extreme Hold by Rusk, Mirrior Glossing Cream by Lea Journo, and Moroccanoil. These three products are key staples to my kit.
Manicurist Dawn Sterling
La La’s manicure was very natural with a touch of shimmer. To achieve her look, start with a manicure and make sure you push your cuticles back using cuticle oil. Dehydrate the nail plate completely before applying nail lacquer. I applied a cream based pastel pink on her nail first then a coat of pastel pink with shimmer using Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics as the top coat.

Brides and the bridal party can run into challenges with perspiration, mascara running from crying, lip color fading from eating and drinking, and excess oil from the skin. Below are some general tips on how makeup can be maintained thoughout the evening for this type of occasion.
Base: For this wedding I used an oil free, light weight foundation with SPF. Before applying the foundation I used a mattifying primer which will help with excess oil on the skin. Setting the foundation with powder is a must (loose powder for natural looking skin, and pressed powder for a fuller coverage).
Mascara/ eye liner: Some people may get filled with emotion at weddings and crying may occur. I made sure that the mascara and eye liner was waterproof. It’s important to consider crying especially for pictures and filming, no one likes raccoon eyes.
Lips: I made sure that the lips were well conditioned with balm while applying the makeup, saving the lips for last. When I was ready to work on the lips, I removed the lip balm and applied a lip stain. After the lip stain dried, applying a gloss or lipstick is the icing on the cake! So if you plan on toasting and dining with guests, there will be no need to worry about the lips.
Foundation: I used Armani & Black Opal, Mascara: Dior, Lip Stain: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

What did you think of La La’s wedding day hair, makeup and nails? What celeb bride would you consider seeking beauty inspiration from for your own big day?
LaLa’s makeup was gorgeous! Her hair was cute too but it looked like she had a lot of weave. This was so cute, thanks Triple! I’m forwarding this to my cousin who is getting married in September.
