I am my mother’s only child and since the day I was born, I’ve been her life’s work. She has shown me that love is unconditional and she has selflessly poured everything she has into me. Everything! Her love is everlasting and with her always near, I have been able to grab life by the horns and live it to the fullest. But the greatest love she taught me is self-love. She warned me never to let anyone define or interrupt the love I have for myself. When I ask her why she thinks I’m so great, she responds “Honey, if I don’t think you’re great, you won’t believe it.” She right. (in my Gladys Knight voice) “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”
