I recently had the pleasure of attending a cool launch event for Amazon.com and Weddingchannel.com at NYC’s hip Bobo restaurant. (Usually spots described as “hip” are anything but however it is an accurate description of Bobo.) Amazon.com has revamped their site to offer a unique wedding registry. Here’s the lowdown:
The folks at Amazon.com realized that engaged couples are typically saying “I Do” later in life and/or living together before tying the knot. And this means that their registry needs are different than they were 20 years ago. Amazon.com’s comprehensive wedding registry offers thousands of items to accommodate those modern couples but they’ve also got cool stuff for the green/eco-friendly nearlyweds yet they kept the traditionalists who still want to register for fine china and towels in mind, too. One of my girlfriends recently had a baby and she found Amazon.com to be the best retailer for her son’s registry (and she had a few). I suspect brides will feel the same about Amazon.com’s wedding registry. In addition to the reasons already mentioned, users can incorporate all of their registries into one on Amazon.com! That’s right, if you’re also registered at Target, Crate & Barrel, Macy’s and Amazon.com, your wedding guests can view all your wanted items via your Amazon.com registry account. Pretty awesome, right?
What do you think of the new Amazon.com Wedding Registry?
