My favorite Tie the Knot Tuesday bridal hairstyle was worn by Stephanie from Texas. It was sophisticated and classy and looked really nice with her gown. I also liked the texture and the way it was pinned up without a lot of gel. It still looked soft and touchable. I love to see brides rockin’ their natural hair on their wedding day.
Clarification: Stephanie’s wedding was in Texas but it appears she and her husband actually live in Maryland. I hope I win!!!
My favorite was TIE THE KNOT TUESDAY – CARLA & MICHAEL. (ceremony) Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, South Orange, NJ; (reception) The Mansion at Bretton Woods, Morris Plains, NJ. I really liked Carla’s straight long style with slight curls at the bottom. I thought it was very elegant.
Although I have many favs I must say that as a women with natural hair myself I really like Lesleys hair do for her wedding. Her Wedding location for the ceremony and reception were at Serenity at Home Guest House, Brooklyn, NY and her groom was Kamau. The reason why I chose her is because a lot of ladies might be a little nervous to wear their natural hair in its natural state on their wedding day but Lesley rocked it out! She didn’t bother with the weaves , straightening products , clips in etc she was in her natural beauty . I have nothing against any of those hair choices by the way its just nice to see something different from the typical wedding hairstyle. I intend on getting married and I often wonder how will I wear my hair for such a important day in my life . Will I straighten it like I have done for many years or fiercely rock my curls that I have grown to love over the past few years.
I will not ever forget the experience I had when I encountered Lesley and Kamau’s wedding in Brooklyn, NY! I still have the page bookmarked. I have been a natural for almost two years, but I have always kept my hair in braids or weaves. I was actually still subconsciously afraid to let my fro live and be free. I distinctly remember after looking at this wedding and the effortlessly chic fro that Lesley rocked actually on that day pushed me to allow my light to shine. The simplicity of her hair with that little flower was beautiful and classy, but the more important thing for me was the unapologetic nature she had with rocking her natural hair. And that radiated through her photos. That week, I did not put any extensions back in my hair but rocked my curly fro for the first time in a loooong time! And she was definitely apart of the reason! Go Lesley (and Thank you!)!
My favorite Tie the Knot Tuesday bridal hairstyle was worn by VaShonda from Maryland. Her wedding to Kyle Arrington was on March 17, 2012 in Temple Hills, MD. I loved how romantic a side-swept do looks and the ornate pin in her hair did it for me.

Crystal zumbrum is the bride to be (105 days away)! Engagement session was in a meadow at the top of a mountain. The desire hair was oversized loose curls sweeping down to my mid back. Yay!

I love the laid back wedding hairstyle of Kahran Hill from Georgia. It fit their wedding theme perfectly…down to earth and playful! Love to see my natural girls shining :)
My favorite Tie the Knot Tuesday hairstyle was from Breanne’s wedding in St. Lucia. i love the gorgeous flowers and the loose curls. The style is classic, but relaxed and it works wonderfully with her dress.
