I’m super-excited to announce that I will be “on the scene” at the Road to Essence Fest in Laurel, MD on Saturday, May 17th! This fun event is taking place at Wal-Mart and is scheduled to include giveaways, empowerment sessions — that’s where I come in — and will feature live musical performances by Marsha Ambrosius (Have you heard her sing?!) and Avery Sunshine. The empowerment sessions are being moderated by my girl and Essence Entertainment Director, Cori Murray. Oh and all of this fun is F-R-E-E, y’all. This event sounds great. Although I’ve been to the Essence Music Festival, I did not know they had a Road to Festival event.
@SD – This is the first year they’re doing Road to Festival event (other cities include Chicago and Atlanta). I believe it is connected to this year being the 20th Anniversary of the Festival in New Orleans.
