Looking back on my childhood, I don’t know how much I learned from my mother about love as it pertains to romantic relationships. Through her actions, she taught me how to reciprocate acts of kindness as well as the importance of recognizing and appreciating those that genuinely care about you. My mother placed a high value on friendships. She didn’t use the title of friend arbitrarily.
As I grew older and began experiencing deeper relationships, the bond that I observed between my mom and her friends helped me to define the role I wanted to play as a boyfriend. Loyalty, trust, and dependability were all traits that I required – and attempted to offer – in relationships that I took seriously. From my mom, I deduced that actions spoke louder than words. I’ve had to tweak this a bit as I’ve gotten older.
I guess what I’m trying to say is – I don’t know what I know about love. This post is going to lead to a few shrink visits. Thanks, Triple B.

I’ll die believing “ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS”. Enjoyed your essay but, I was totally confused at one point until I looked up “deduced”.
You live Love loudly every day. I and all others that know you see it clearly. For so long I’ve felt that you earn the name you inherited by your kindness and Love. You’re my Baby Boy and I love you More.
Great people produce great people. Also, I’m glad to be on your friend list Cousin Mars as it truly does have its perks but more importantly, I’m glad my friend has you.
