BREAKING NEWS: It looks like Kandi Burruss of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is preparing to actually become a real…well, wife! The former member of the R&B girl group Xscape is preparing to tie the knot to television producer, Todd Tucker. So Kandi joins the ranks of Janet Jackson, Brandy and Mellody Hobson — all high-profile Black women who recently announced they’ll be saying I Do in the near future. Shucks, NeNe Leaks divorced her husband Gregg of over a decade and even they just announced that they’re remarrying.

There’s no word yet on when the couple will do the deed but Kandi has repeatedly expressed on RHOA that she is ready to become a wife and have another child (she already has an 11 year-old daughter Riley from a previous relationship). I personally am happy for Kandi because she’s such a go-getter — she’s written Grammy-winning songs, launched her own sex toy line, has a boutique and unlike so many others of my generation, chooses to brag about her modest lifestyle and not how many pairs of red bottoms she owns. Let’s see if she gets any wedding planning tips from her girl Cynthia. I’m sure Bravo is eager to film all the wedding planning and the actual affair for us all to devour. Will you be watching?
