One of the biggest traps planning brides fall into is the need to purchase “bridal” everything after getting engaged and not realizing that anything labeled bridal is marked up significantly because bridal-centric retailers know there is a high emotional attachment to their goods and services. This is definitely the case for fashion and accessories. Nearlyweds, get familiar with J.Crew Factory!
J. Crew Factory is an online outlet if you will that offers all the stylish goodies you’ve come to expect from the fashionable brand. Apparel and accessories for men, women and children are available and get this — there’s even a CLEARANCE section on the already reduced site. For someone like me who loathes paying retail for just about anything, this was a certified treat to discover. The adorable dress above is probably from last season but is a timeless silhouette and can be an ideal flower girl dress next spring, too. There are also awesome items that can serve as bridesmaid gifts on J. Crew Factory like journals. In fact, Mr. TK scored his groomsmen gifts — caramel leather passport covers which he had personalized — from this site and they were a hit with his crew.
Keep this resource in mind as you select your bridesmaid dresses (see above), outfits for upcoming engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, farewell brunches and all that jazz as well. Oh and they have shoes, too. You’re welcome.
Happy shopping (and saving)!
Now this is a great find because I love JCrew but find their prices to be a little high. Thanks BBB!!!
Very cute dresses and great prices! I went to the site but didn’t see the caramel passport cases you mentioned. Do you know if they’re still available?
Yes, my mother found a dress that was labeled a flower girl in dress in David’s Bridal in Macy’s for about half of the price…anytime the word bridal is attached to something, the price from food to photography escalates…
@ Christina – You’re welcome!
@ Andrea – Those passport cases I mentioned were purchased over the summer so they probably are sold out now.
@Jackie – I love that story! My mom and your mom would probably get along great because my mother can score a deal practically anywhere. My mother even purchased the dress my oldest niece wore to my wedding (a brand new, tags still attached David’s Bridal dress — no alterations needed) for less than ten bucks from Goodwill. And I appreciate that as long as it fits my niece will continue to wear it, well after my wedding.
Yes I did! On my way to Goodwill now, it’s senior’s discount day.
I’m going to Charlotte just to shop with Mommy/Grandma at Goodwill. Either it is a magical place or she is a miracle worker! I enjoyed reading this post Ms Bridg.
