Me on my wedding day flanked by my rock-star nieces, Briana (left) and Benaya (right)!

I’m officially back from my minimoon and the bridal dust is beginning to settle. There are certainly still tasks to complete — thank you cards, anyone? — but Mr. TK and I have had an opportunity to look back on our weddings (Yes, there were two!) and reflect. We’ve basically come to this conclusion: We worked dang hard together to pull off The Royall Union and we’re proud of our teamwork, we have so much more hard work to put in as we build for our future, we really dig each other (LOL!) and we’re blessed beyond measure. Although the road ahead of us seems daunting at times, we’re looking forward to getting familiar with the unfamiliar together. Which leads me to what are possibly my favorite wedding gifts of all. These gifts are from my 10 and 12 year-old nieces who I’m pictured with above.

My oldest niece Benaya presented Mr. TK and I with this on the big day.
My youngest niece Briana painted this piece for us and also presented it on the big day. Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words...

Both of these gifts will eventually be framed and displayed in our home. Because after all the wedding planning and bridal dust has really settled, these two gifts pretty much sum up the point of it all anyway. And a child shall lead them…
