Brides-to-be who are fans of J.Crew have another reason to celebrate. Now, in addition to getting your wedding gown, bridesmaid dresses and bridal party gifts at the famed cult retailer, you can snag your wedding stationery there, too. J.Crew formed a partnership with the hip, Los Angeles-based Sugar Paper to produce a well-edited collection of notecards, escort and placecards, coasters and more that range from $7 to $75 per item.
Sugar Paper is decade old stationery resource founded by “connoisseurs of correspondence and self-proclaimed traditionalists”, Chelsea Shukov and Jamie Grobecker who believe that personal stationery makes a deep, lasting impression. (I happen to agree.) The feminine (but not frilly) collection features a palette of pale grey, metallic and blush and the playful typefaces are memorable. Triple B votes for the bubbly placecards — perfect if paired with a silver or gold pen — for a bridal shower or engagement party (they’re a bit pricey for a wedding) and the assortment of correspondence cards with messages like, “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” are ultra chic.
Planning brides, where are you ordering your wedding stationery from and why?
They’re pretty but kinda expensive like everything else at J. Crew. I have no plans of paying seven dollars for one card!
Triple B has to report on the trends but honestly, I think I have only purchased one item (and I have many) at full-price from J.Crew. I rarely pay retail. However for special occasions, this collection can prove helpful for many working folks.
